The Scholastic Book Fair is going on NOW! Stop in and check it out before and after school.

We very excited to announce from now to the end of the school year, Mrs. Rice’s 6-8 PE classes will be participating in UNICEF Kid Power, a program from the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids earn points and unlock therapeutic food packets for severely malnourished children around the world.

UNICEF Kid Power is a teacher-led experience that leverages easy-to-use technology and standards-aligned lessons and activities. The Kid Power Band measures a wearer’s physical activity (steps and movement) using the Band’s pedometer and accelerometer. The Band does not track a wearer’s location, and does not have access to any location data or personal information. Physical activity data from the Band is completely private, and only viewable by Mrs. Rice. UNICEF may share aggregate physical activity data and summary information with research partners, but individual data will not be publicly available.

Congratulations to one of our very own, Jeana Rico who was recognized by the Bay City Noon Optimist club at their annual Unsung Hero awards.  Jeana is an amazing student!  She goes above and beyond everything that is asked of her.  She is hardworking, patient, kind and respectful and an absolute joy to be around. We are so blessed to have Jeana as a student here at BCA.

Thank you for representing Bay City Academy!
